Vocation: Make a concerted effort to gather information on what's available to you

So often we act as if we just don’t know what to do next. Especially when we’re young. But there is a wealth of information out there specifically targeted at you as a young person and designed to help you think through your options. This action is about you making time to get your hands on as much good information as you can.

And this information can come from a variety of sources. Your school or college will have a Careers Advice service you can plug into. Your church — at a District or perhaps Circuit Level — should have information on the various denominational gap schemes you could consider. And, of course, there’s the good old Internet — although we’d advise you to seek information from people as well as portals (vocational advice is about knowing the person, not just about doling out information).
