Talk to someone about Sex and Sexuality

So often we suffer in silence. Don’t! Make it an action to find someone you trust (in your church, school, college or community) who you can talk to openly and honestly about any issues you might have around sex and/or your own sexuality. While this is a youth participation site, this probably needs to be someone more adult than you — ideally someone in a committed and loving relationship, but not a parent or guardian!

You need to be sure that whatever you share with this person is taken in confidence. And you’ll need to establish what sort of level of contact you have with your confidante — how often you meet to talk (ad hoc or scheduled), how accountable you are to them, and so on. But, however you work it, make sure there’s someone in your life you can talk to about issues of sex and sexuality.

This Is The Perfect Issue To Comment On Especially When I Am Holding A Workshop On This At Youth Assembly.

Sex Is A Very Controversial Issue To Discuss. When Discussing This Issue It’s Best To Do So With Someone That You’re Comfortable With And Is Not Judgemental.

Remember That No One Is Perfect And This Is All A Learning Curb For All Of Us.
